For nearly 30 years, InOvate Technologies, Inc. has focused on improving exhaust performance for residential clothes dryers.  Originating with the Dryerbox®, a transition duct receptacle that saves space and protects against crushed hoses, the South Florida-based company has a track record of patenting and licensing unique solutions that solve common dryer venting problems.  InOvate’s success has been rooted in the company’s ability to market directly to builders, architects, engineers, and contractors and pull those sales through over 2,500 HVAC supply houses nationwide. Other avenues of channel sales include big box retail, roofing/building suppliers, and a network of home service professionals. 

Since 2019, InOvate is managed through the Riverbend Industries (RBI) portfolio.  RBI is a private family-owned portfolio holding company headquartered in Chicago, IL. The portfolio is primarily comprised of several small, independently operated, previously family-run businesses in the light manufacturing and distribution sectors. The portfolio is a long-term holder of its investments/assets and plans to grow both organically and through acquisitions into the foreseeable future.

Summary

The primary focus of this position is to coordinate and expedite activities required for new product development and provide sales support upon product launch. This coordination will span all departments to include Marketing, Sales, Operation, Finances and R&D to ensure activities are executed and managed in a timely manner for new products.  

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Manage project responsibilities: assign deliverables and follow up.
  • Maintain multiple project schedules by monitoring project progress and coordinating activities.
  • Maintain project timeline using IoV Project Tracker system.
  • Provides meeting notes and project status reports to department heads and other parties involved in a New Product Development project.
  • Participate in development of the Go To Market Strategy process.
  • Participate in development of identifying Primary Sales Channels for each new product.
  • Communicate the Value Proposition and Product Positioning Strategy to the Sales Team.
  • Participate in Sales Calls independently and/or with Sales Team to create demand and build initial momentum in market adoption and closing sales.
  • When necessary, identify and create relationships in new markets for a new product.
  • Assist in updating models and generating drawings in SolidWorks as needed.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School degree (or equivalent) 
  • 3 years of experience product development
  • 2 years of experience in project management
  • 2 years of experience in the use of SolidWorks

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • ERP and CRM experience (NetSuite is a plus)
  • 2+ years in the HVAC industry
  • 2-5 years with SolidWorks
  • 3 years of experience in product launches and sales strategies

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office programs including: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint; and,      the ability to learn other applications quickly.
  • Ability to update Models and generate Drawings in Solidworks.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  •  Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time
  •  Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, climb, and navigate throughout jobsites and manufacturing plants
  •  Ability to safely lift and move objects up to seventy-five (75) lbs over short distances

  •  Champion sales training sessions for the Sales Team to promote learning, consistency, and a clear value proposition for new Products.
